Do not cover the evidence before the handoff

Collect source-repair records, affected-material findings, drying documentation, inaccessible-area notes, photos, and approved scope changes. Define walls, floors, cabinets, fixtures, finish matching, trade coordination, permits, debris, protection, and final inspection. Confirm which contractor owns each stage and verify applicable licensing. Rebuilding does not retroactively prove earlier assessment complete.
